Admin fun!

June 29th, 2017

Tonight I spent the evening sorting out print orders – digital media is great, but there’s something satisfying about posting a print to a customer – call me out fashioned maybe! They’re all ready to pop in the post tomorrow and I hope the recipients are as excited to receive as I am to post!

Cute Christmas outfits all round

December 6th, 2014

Had lots of fun this morning shooting some Christmas portraits in front of the tree with two adorable kids. The two year old was much more interested in the camera preview screen and the buttons than being in front of the lens, a photographer in the making perhaps! The youngest was much more obliging with her winning smile.

Look who I caught fishing today…

A lovely day for a walk along the Water of Leith walkway in Edinburgh. Even better to catch sight of one of the resident fishermen 😉

Aegon GB Pro-Series Edinburgh

May 6th, 2013

I had the pleasure last week of spending some time with one of the official photographers for the tennis in Edinburgh. It was a great day with some fantastic tennis being played. I think I need some more practice on sports photography before my shots get close to pro standard, but hopefully there’s potential! A few of my shots below…

The Pro shots can be seen here:

Lovely to see baby and Mum earlier this week. What a cutie, and grown so much since the last photoshoot when he was only 5 days old!

Sunshine and snow

We’ve had a few days of snow and sunshine here in Scotland and it reminded me of this picture taken on a similar beautiful sunny day, so I thought I’d share with you!

Forth Rail Bridge

I really liked the reflections on the water in this shot, it’s not often that the light is right and the water is calm enough around the Forth Bridge to get this! It was a lovely afternoon to be able to grab a couple of shots of the bridge while having a look at the progress of the new bridge. There seems to have been roadworks in the area for months or years now without much bridge to show for it yet, although I suppose alot of the work so far is well submerged beneath the waves 😉  I’m sure it’ll be an impressive structure when it’s finished, but I’m not sure it’ll beat the look of the original rail bridge.

For those of you that like the details, some info about the old and the new courtesy of Wikipedia:

The new Forth Replacement Crossing will be a cable-stayed bridge, with an overall length of 2.7 kilometres (1.7 mi). Around 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) of new connecting roads are being built, including new and upgraded junctions at Ferrytoll in Fife, South Queensferry, and Junction 1a on the M9. It will be the third bridge across the Forth at Queensferry, alongside the Forth Road Bridge completed in 1964, and the Forth Bridge completed in 1890. The bridge is due to be complete by 2016, and will be formally named following a public vote in 2013.

I have a friend who’s Grandad worked on the existing Forth Road Bridge, I wonder what he’d think of the plans for the new one?

Brother & Sister shoot

February 13th, 2013

A couple of photos from a recent photoshoot of a proud big brother and his little sister. So nice to see how much he wanted to cuddle her, I’m sure it won’t last long!

Little sister wasn’t quite as keen on the cuddles from big brother…

Aiden & Amber

and a bit of posing on his own, the next Romeo Beckham perhaps, or maybe Sean O’Pry?!

Guinness Time?

February 5th, 2013

No, not Dublin, but one of the many Irish pubs in the Scottish capital. Appropiate I think that you can see time go backwards as you look through the window!
